What Causes Warts?
Warts are a viral infection caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). HPV has more than 100 different strains, but types 1, 2, & 3, are the most common causes of warts. The virus enters the body through an area of skin that is cracked, peeling, or moist. It can be contracted by sharing towels, clothing, and other items with infected individuals, and yes, the can even be contracted via change room floors.
